THE RIDERS
Scott is about to set off on a 9,563-mile bicycle adventure with his son, Ethan, as they pedal to every Major League Baseball stadium. The journey allows Scott to revisit the excitement he first experienced in 1994, when he crossed the country by bike with three college track and field teammates to visit each ballpark. Now, thirty-two years later, riding alongside Ethan, Scott looks forward to sharing both the challenging and rewarding days on the open road while taking in the beauty of baseball. He is eager for Ethan to meet new people, discover new places across the United States and Canada, and experience this unforgettable adventure together, side by side.

Why This Ride Matters
We are proudly supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through our Bike2Ballparks ride, donating 100% of the proceeds to bring hope and healing to children fighting pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Guided by the vision that no child should die in the dawn of life, St. Jude drives groundbreaking research and compassionate care that has raised the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% in 1962 to more than 80% today.
By supporting St. Jude through this cross-country cycling journey to every Major League Baseball stadium, we help fund innovative treatments, clinical trials, and global sharing of breakthroughs - giving more children the hope of beating cancer, enjoying childhood, and growing up healthy. Every contribution moves us closer to cures and brighter futures for these brave kids and their families.
A PERSONAL WHY
Scott has long been moved by the care and compassion that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides to families when cancer enters their lives. The stories shared during their fundraising efforts - raw, honest, and deeply human - left a lasting impression, especially hearing parents speak openly about the moment their child was diagnosed.
That connection became deeply personal when one of Scott’s favorite professors at Cal Poly Humboldt, Dr. Richard Stull, lost his young daughter to cancer. Reading her obituary, Scott found himself overwhelmed with grief -an experience he has never forgotten. It is impossible for him to imagine what it would feel like to face that loss as a parent.
This ride is an invitation to turn those feelings into action - to log meaningful miles, raise awareness, and help generate financial support for children and families so more young lives have the chance to be fully lived.
